Safer Cities
LED lighting designed to improve urban life and save energy

Cities clearly need artificial lighting: it makes residents feel safer and creates a more welcoming environment for business and tourism. Fortunately, a technological revolution is underway as cities increasingly switch to LED technology. The movement is set to drastically reduce global lighting costs.
By 2027, the widespread use of LEDs could save the equivalent of 45 large power plants, which means savings of more than $30 billion on current electricity prices in a country like the United States alone. The next step is to install intelligent street lighting systems, using Internet of Things technology and machine-to-machine communication, or direct communication between devices.
It may sound like a science fiction movie, but it is already possible to turn the lights on and off individually when necessary: if no one is around, they will stay off and only come on when a pedestrian, cyclist or car approaches. The sensors will also allow information to be recorded.
LED technology is already changing our cities and the way we live for the better.
