VR9045D – This is a relay from the VR90XX family, developed to integrate excitation systems for “Collector Ring” synchronous motors. This type of motor requires the field to be applied at a well-defined time, close to synchronous speed and with a favorable polar angle, so that synchronization occurs without transients and large current oscillations in the stator. The relay also provides field application in the case of reluctance synchronization. In addition to these functions, the VR9045D relay provides a trip signal in two possible conditions: failure of the motor to accelerate within the predicted time and erroneous insertion of the discharge resistors. This last function becomes “Step Out” detection, that is, desynchronization if a Crowbar is used to insert the discharge resistors at start-up, since there will be induced AC voltage in the field automatically coupled to the discharge resistors.

• FCX function for load release.
• “Resync” function for resynchronization attempts.
• Function for monitoring erroneous insertion of the Discharge Resistor (Drs) after synchronization.
• “Step Out” detection function if Crowbar Varixx is used instead of the DR insertion contactor.

• Field signal input from 10 to 300 VAC.
• LED indication of actuation and faults.
• “Start”, “Resync” and “Reset” signal inputs by dry contacts (10 mA / 12 VDC optically coupled).
